After serving our clients for 41years, the law firm of Kearns & Kearns shall permanently close on May 31, 2026.Attorney John F (Jay) Kearns III is Of Counsel at the law firm of Hassett & George, in a part time capacity through 2027. Attorney Lisa Courser is retiring after 34 years along with our long-time staff that has now aged out of the workforce.

Clients who signed their legal documents at Kearns & Kearns were presented with those original documents at that time.

Copies of those documents merely served as a reference for the firm's attorneys. The closing of Kearns & Kearns or the attorney's retirement has absolutely no impact upon the validity of your legal documents. The Connecticut Bar Association 's file retention guidelines requires lawyers to maintain copies of clients' documents for a 7-year timeframe from the completion of the legal work, before they may be destroyed.
